Complaint against Citibank – Housing Loan – CIBIL listing
Have a housing loan from 2001, with Citibank. Taken from Shelters-Coimbatore.
Complaints are:
1. Forwarded my name to CIBIL, as defaulter.
2. Checked with Citibank and paid off their dues, as indicated by them orally.
3. They orally informed me that some amount outstanding as penal charges will be waived off, because of my payment of the dues. CIBIL will be instructed to remove my name. They asked me to check with CIBIL in 2 weeks time.
4. Contacted CIBIL. Paid their fees. Waited until 04-12-09. My name still figures as a defaulter for an amount of Rs.6336/-.
5. Checked with Mr. Badri of Citibank (9962695372, off-044-66842320) again. He again stated that they had waived off the penal charges of Rs.6336/-.
6. Till date no written confirmation, no feedback about the same.
7. Last week a Citibank employee called up and said that i have to shell out Rs.9000/- as dues.
8. Citibank does not respond for any information requested from them.
9. Employees are harassing me by phone calls.
Speccific complaints against Citibank, which they have not addressed despite repeated requests to them, for quite some time.
1. The DSA of Citibank (shelters) had infromed us to not write the amounts on the cheque leaves given to them in advance (at the time of taking the loan). The handwriting on the cheques will definitely not tally with my handwriting in many cases, because the amount due was being filled by the DSA.
2. The cheques do not appear to have been presented in the serial number sequence.
3. It also appears that they have not returned the unused cheques to me.
4. It is also possible that they may have filled up the cheque amounts, even after the interest rates / emi changed, as a form of adjustment.
5. Since my emi’s are based on floating rate, it is possible that the Citibank presented the cheques with the lower amount written on them (as the cheque leaves were obtained in advance), whereas the interest rate would have changed in the meantime. I am being penalised for their faulty payment options.
6. Citibank does not intimate about any changes in the monthly instalment to be paid, unless the customer specifically queries about it.
7. Citibank or its collection agents are informed to collect the instalment in cash, (due to the above problems detected by me) on the 1′st of the month, but they turn up late or do not show up until the 2′nd or 3′rd. Yet I am billed late fees (exorbitant at that!!).
8. I desire to repair and renovate my 9 year old house, but no bank is willing to give a loan for the same because of the CIBIL report. It appears that CITIBANK is doing this on purpose, despite the DELHI Consumer Court instructing it and the RBI, not to indulge in such unfair trade practises. They have also flouted the guidleines of the RBI, n respect of the reporting norms for CIBIL upload.
9. I wish to make the specific employees of Citibank accountable for their actions (including the Assistant Manager / Manager concerned) and to obtain compensation for the delay tactics done by them, to wilfully prevent me from obtaining a loan from other banks.
10. Nothwithstanding the usurious interest rate charged (when other banks were quotng 10%, CITIBANK was charging 13.5% interest) by CITIBANK based on their whims and fancies, the method of calculation of the instalment (floating) is suspect too.
I wish to know, if i can press criminal charges against their employees, based on the above.
