Complaint against Nokia service

Sir(s)

I had purchased a Nokia N72 in November 07.

IMEI #: 356966014117693

Location: The Mobile store, Velachery, Chennai.

It was kept in a safe and secure environment, carefully.

Of late, the display part of the instrument is posing problems. The bottom part of the display is not functional at all, and it blinks all the time.

I tried to reach Nokia care and approached Nokia, Alwarpet and then at Eldhams road, Teynampet.

I am told that I had to change the display at a cost of Rs. 3000. The possible reason for this, they say, is that I could have dropped the mobile some time. Warranty does not apply now because the mobile has overrun the prescribed 12 month period.

Please note than I have kept the mobile in a totally secure environment. There is no possibility of such an event. (Also, it cannot be that a 12 month warranty on a product can mandate a defective piece from the 13th month onwards).

Under the circumstance, I would like Nokia to assist me in getting my mobile up, financially and technically. But, the response from Nokia is not encouraging.

I request intervention from your office, in this regard.

Regards

If you have present the set to Nokia post-warranty then we think Nokia is within their rights in charging for their service. However, if the present defect had earlier been serviced by Nokia, then that particular service may carry a specific warranty for a limited period.
