Hindustan Pureit – Continued Delay in Battery Replacement

Our family has been using Hindustan Pureit for about 3~4 months now. But a month ago on 18th-June-2010, our pureit battery got exhausted. And so we called up the customer care of HL Pureit for requesting a battery replacement, which would last for more than 2000 litres. The cost they mentioned was 510/-. We were assured that the battery will be supplied to our within 24 hours. But there was no response. So, we call again them and they said it would be replaced in 72 hours. But still, the response was the same. Later on our 3rd complaint, an sms was sent with the address details of the local dealer, who would visit our home and replace the battery within 2 working days. On 02nd-July-2010, an sms was sent requesting us to confirm the delivery against the order no.IS10/VAP2254-631 by messaging GKB 1 on the number 09223200200 and if not delivered then send GKB 0 on the same number so that our team could attend the same urgently. Accordingly, we messaged GKB 0 as the supply was not made.

After two days, when no one came, we called upon the mobile number of the dealer given to us by the customer care. But this number remained switched off all the while. Then, we visited the address given to us. Upon reaching the address, we found the shop is actually an egg, phenyl, etc (Grocery) store and not the HL Pureit dealer address. On confirming further with the storekeeper, we realized that the supposed dealer is actually a student and keeps his mobile switched off during the day time and switches it on during the night time. Luckily, on the same day, i could speak to this dealer, who hung up when i enquired his name. But before hanging up, he informed me to send my address, so that he could visit my home to replace the same. And so, i sent him my contact details on 21st-July-2010. But there was no response. After that, we have registered complaints thrice regarding the same situation, but the hindustan level division for the pureit battery is still passive. They only give assurance in words, but not in action.

We strong request to take stringent actions for improving the situation. We are not asking for punishments on any grounds to the company.
