I had an Air India flight (AI0024) flight from Delhi to Bombay on 11th Dec, 2016 at 6pm. I reached the airport at 5:10pm and was standing at “Air India All Domestic Flights Check-in Counter.” However, the check-in was from the international counter (told by an Air India officer) and I rushed to that counter and the time was around 5:15pm. I even verified from another Air India official if I was at the correct counter and I need to check-in soon as my flight is at 6pm. He said I will be checked-in on time and that I should stand in the line. By the time my turn came it was 5:27pm and in 2 min the lady at the counter said the window is closed and I need to go to the duty manager. I rushed to the duty manager and there was a lot of chaos as other passengers had faced the same issue. I told the duty manager my case but she (Hxxxxxxxt Kxxxxxr) was outright rude and simply blamed it on me that I was not at the airport. I told her to ask her officials who guided me to the counter but she refused. I even told her check the cctv footage to see when I was at the airport instead of putting the entire blame on me when the mistake is of Air India. I told them to manage me in another flight. I was of the idea that they will schedule another flight with no cost but I had to pay an additional amount of 14500 for a one way ticket despite no mistake of mine. Just because it is a government organisation doesn’t mean they can get away with anything. I am not at fault here and what is wrong is wrong. If this forum doesn’t listen to my issue, I will go to another but I will not stop when it is not my mistake!!
