Due to Chennai-Delhi flight cancellation by AirIndia on the 30th August 2017 and subsequent delayed arrival and flight departure at Delhi airport, the ground staff of AirIndia at New Delhi informed me that instead of my Delhi-Stockholm AirIndia flight, I’m getting accommodated on Delhi-Dubai by an AirIndia flight and Dubai-Stockholm by Emirates flight. I was also told that the Dubai-Stockholm flight ticket can be collected from the transit desk of Emirates airlines at Dubai.
However, on my arrival at Dubai airport,, I was informed by Emirates ground staff that AirIndia had only enquired on ticket exchange and NEVER actually made the booking for me.
Stranded at Dubai airport during the mid-night on the 30th August, and after frantic efforts to reach out to the AI Helpdesk and ground staff by making International calls to India for about 2-3 hours, I had no option left but to buy the tickets from Emirates by paying a huge sum of 13000 Swedish Kronors (approx 1 lakh INR)
On my arrival back to Sweden, wrote a formal mail to AirIndia, and made several follow-up calls, in vain.
I am looking for compensation for my mental agony and the expenses incurred. Happy to provide any further details and send all the evidences as attachments.
