I have purchased a new Hyundai i20 asta car on 12th January from Hemkund Hyundai, Delhi. Recently I went on a trip to chandigarh (on June 4) and parked the car after coming back (on June10).
One day after, (on June 12) when I approached the car for going to office, I found my front left tyre flat. I replaced it with stepny and when I took the wheel(on June 13) to get the air pressure or punchure correct, I found that the allow wheel has bended.
I contacted the Hyundai assistance customer care the same day and mailed at “crservice[@]hmil.net” mentioning the whole concern. The revert mail(on June15) said that the dealer will be in touch within 3 days. An executive visited my place to click the photographs of the alloy wheel. Then (on June 16) I again got a mail from “crncr3[@]hmil.net” mentioning that the service manager of ORION HYUNDAI to look into the matter. I did not get any response/call from the team and I again(on June 17)sent an mail inquiring for the solution. The response(on June19) to mail I will be contacted and served by regional office within next three days. On June 20 I received the mail from Mr.Rxxxxxh saying that the alloy wheel cannot be replaced as the damage could have been caused due to the impact on the wheels running in the potholes.
The terms and conditions for the warranty of a new car by Hyundai Motor India Limited(HMIL) clearly concludes that it covers the replacement of allow wheels which are to be defective in material or workmanship.
Furthermore, it is not a case of accident and the air pressure of the tire was correct to my knowledge because I got it checked before travelling back from Chandigarh to Gurgaon. Neither I ran into a pothole nor I drive at high speeds. It’s been 9 days of inconvenience as I am not able to drive my car and had to deal with unethical orion hyundai workshop people. The replacement of the allow wheel should be done by HYUNDAI MOTORS for delivering a defective and low quality product.
