I had purchased a Gionee E Life S5.5 model cell phone from “The Prime” a dealer in kolkata on 29-5-2014 for Rs 21000 approx, but the phone stopped working(dead) on 13-10-14. I sent it to my nearest service centre at Prayas Infocomm 10 Waterloo street kolkata. They gave a receipt same day which stated that “Set Dead, Liquid on pcba”. After couple of days they called me to say that Rs 9500 will be charged if I want my phone back in working condition, to my amazement ! I felt cheated, since the phone was under warranty period only, and the faulty handset should have been replaced or repaired by the company.
Since I did not want to pay for cell under warranty , I took the phone back from the service centre. Now I want to get either my cellphone replaced nor my money back since I find that the handset is faulty since it has some manufacturing defect.
I am attaching a scanned copy of letter of receipt by the service centre.
