I holder of HDFC Debit Card (ending XXX054) had done to ATM adjacent to Indian Overseas Bank, HRBR Layout, on Friday 8th Sep’17 10:43am to withdraw cash of Rs.6000 only. However, the cash was not dispensed by the machine and amount was deducted from my account and the session terminated. I spoke to the ATM security guard who argued with me and blamed me stating I did not read the instructions and the machine is not used to withdraw cash. I called him inside the ATM and confirmed him there is no such message on the screen nor any label attached to the machine mentioning this, but only an LED blinking requesting to swipe the card. Immediately, I spoke to the bank staff who asked me to raise complaint with my original bank.
As per the policy, I waited for 24hrs for the amount to be refunded but it did not. So, on Saturday 9th Sep’17, I raised a complaint (#1396478) with HDFC Bank. Later, I also submitted an ATM Dispute Form from a nearby HDFC Bank branch.
After taking more than stipulated time of 7 working days, I recently received a response from the bank(please find attached) stating falsely that the transaction was successful and cash was dispensed from the machine. I have raised another complaint (# MUMT0917232131) to escalate this.
I had also been to my local Banaswadi Police Station to report the incident and submit an FIR to investigate the issue. Unfortunately, even after couple of visits, they denied to submit an FIR and only took a general complaint as the police were not ready to take any action.
I would request you to please help me due to this harassment I’m facing and help look into the issue so that claimed amount is credited back to my account soon.
