Recently i had a visit to the famous RockFort Temple @ Trichy along with my family. It was too hot and sunny and I thought of taking some cool drinks at the Vinayaka Cool drinks shop which is at the top of the hillock. I ordered for 2 Maaza small bottles and noticed the date on that products were not an expired one. Further i noticed that the MRP for each unit was just Rs.10/- whereas when i gave that shopkeeper Rs.100/- he gave me back only Rs.60/- as balance. I asked him for the balance due of Rs.20/- for which he said each unit costs Rs.20/-

I argued with him why he should be charging double than the MRP. He replied stating here in Trichy near RockFort temple everywhere it costs around Rs.15/- eventhough the MRP is Rs.10/- and just because he is running a shop at the top of the hillock, he stated the charges are double than the MRP. What the heck is this.

What is going on in Tamilnadu. Everywhere and especially all retail shops that are in and around famous places like this and also near bus terminuses are like this only. Even recently there was a sudden raid conducted in CMBT bus terminus and many shops got caught of. Why can’t the same be done in other parts of the state as well. I recommend sudden visits are conducted by respective authorities and instruct every such shops to retain a board stating, “Don’t pay even a single penny above MRP” and if overcharged, then who is the relevant person to complaint against it.
