On Wednesday December 30th 2015 I went to the supermarket to purchase some items . I gave my ICICI bank credit card to pay the bill and the payment was declined due to “delay in your payment”. The cashier in the presence of at least 8 other customers said loudly “the card was declined for late payment by you”. This was extremely embarassing for me. Firstly there are no dues outstanding on my card. Secondly I always pay the full balance when due. Thirdly my payments are by automatic debit through the bank. Later I got an sms from the bank “Dear Customer Your transaction of INR903 on CC ending 7004 is declined due to delay in your payment. Please call our Customer Care. I am a Senior citizen and this has caused me undue stress and uncertainity. I deal with the Chicalim Goa Branch of ICICI Bank
