I am writing to you regarding MGL bill sent to my parent, under whose name it is registered. She has received a bill of Rs. 42,000+ (Forty Two thousand & plus), inspite of paying the bills regularly. The bill dated Aug 8, 2017. We called their customer service and a lady named Pxxxxa answered to me. She said that we have not paid the bill since 2009 as the meter reading has not happened. On questioning why the meter reading has not happened, she said that the premise was locked. I was like – how is it possible for 8 years every time the premise is locked? And if that’s the case, why am I even receiving the bill of Rs. 650+ every two months? She was extremely rude saying – agar ghar bandh Hai to hum Kya kare? My parents are not even NRIs. We have been receiving the bills every two months which they have duly paid.
Further last year, they even received a bill saying that you have overpaid , hence you won’t get bills. They didn’t get bill for nearly eight months.
Why do we face such harassment if the employees of MGL are incompetent to come and check the meter and instead out false allegations that home is locked? Request your help on this please.

  1. You’ll need to prove your meter is faulty. If you are desperate, I suggest you don’t pay the bill, let them disconnect. Your parents may switch to LPG, mocrowave, Induction cooker, OTG, …
