Flipkart not honoring 30 day replacement guarantee

I bought mi4i phone on 24th May (OD002905237360387300) from flipkart as a gift to my cousin who stays in another city.

A week later, the phone starts giving weird issues like difficulty in enabling data connection (have to restart phone everytime I enable data to connect), crash of every app that has been installed within 30 seconds of opening. Please note that this is about Facebook and WhatsApp I am talking here.

I gave a call to flipkart customer care 15 days after the product has been bought asking them to replace the product. They gave me some trouble shooting steps which didn’t help in resolving the problem.

After 20 calls and 10 mails, the customer care says there needs to be a third party app installed for scanning the phone for any errors.

With great difficulty, I get my cousin to connect to the customer care. The customer care scans the phone and says complaint has to registered with the app companies (facebook and WhatsApp). The CC guy also fails to understand there have been data connection issues in spite of the sim being factory made. (Not a cut sim). They refuse to replace the phone when the issue is clearly an OS malfunction.

Since when did installation of verified apps has become an issue on android phones?

Every time I talk to my cousin, I have been having this guilty feeling because of pestering him in this regard.

Clearly, they have been finding reasons not to honour a genuine replacement request. Please do the needful. Attached is the picture showing how many times they have rejected my request citing different reasons.
