Holiday booking complaint with Thomas Cook

I never imagined a holiday can be very distressing and financially squeezing more pennies out of my pocket even though I never step a foot out of country.

It started this year January when I was looking for a holiday for me and my parents. I saw some deal on internet find Thomas Cook Europe holiday for 6N/7D under my budget and also to experience Europe too. I made total of 261000/- in three times payment through internet. Since I stay in Patna so I asked Thomas Cook executive to transfer the holiday file to nearest office and he did it to Gurgaon Thomas Cook office.

After submitting my documents and passports for visa at VFS New Delhi I was totally assured that I will get the visa for this Europe tour because i provided all the documents i was asked for. Finally I got a call from VFS to collect my passports personally because they refused to courier passports for security reasons.

I went to Delhi and collected our passports. I was stunned and sadden to see that our visa was rejected. I mail the rejection letter to Thomas Cook and asked them to cancel the trip. Since my holiday was insured with Trip Protection Plan so I was supposed to get the maximum refund excluding visa fees and other miscellaneous charges.

After this disappointment I thought to book another holiday to Asia and made call to Thomas Cook executive to transfer my refund money into new holiday. After discussion Thomas Cook executive, I booked new holiday departure on 3rd May. Now it is been 16 days and there is no news from Thomas Cook about refund and also after asking me to them about visa for new holiday they asked our passports and other documents for visa.

When i spoke last time few days ago manager told me that nothing is started in new holiday. They are still waiting for refund money to transfer in this holiday. Thomas Cook manager assured me that it will done on time and noting to worry but I have doubts that it will not work out. I have already lost so much money going twice to Delhi for previous holiday visa. And if this new holiday is not work out then i might lose so much money because this new holiday is not insured too. Thomas Cook employee are not at all helpful. I wrote twice to Sr. Manager but I never got any reply from them.

This is the worst experience and so distressing from last three months. Rather a pleasure tour this has become a nuisance for me and my parents
