I have booked a ticket in Jet Airways with travel date 22nd March which is apparently a non-refundable ticket. I had booked this ticket more than a month ago around 2nd Jan’2016. Lately, I was advised by my doctor that my wife should not travel by flight due to medical reasons of her pregnancy. I applied for a cancellation of the ticket and got to know that only around 200 rupees will be refunded where as I had spend INR 9,368 on the tickets. I spoke with the customer representative of the Jet airways where I was advised to write a mail to firstname.lastname@example.org along with the ticket details and doctor’s certified letter. I provide both the details but now I am being told that the patient has to be hospitalized on the day of travel and then only a refund will be provided and the refund will not be provided in any other scenario. They are not even providing me the option to re-schedule my travel date.
I read in one of the articles in dnaIndia.com that says ” At a working group meeting held, the airines have agreed to refund passengers for non-refundable ticket as well. ” The civil aviation secretary has already sent instructions to all the airlines in this regard”.
