I requested SBI General Insurance, Fraser Road, Patna to close my Health Insurance Policy on July 09, 2018. The customer care replied on the same date – “Further kindly note that auto-renewal deactivation request has already been taken for the said policy … and it will get closed automatically.” As it can be noted that a month before I personally went to SBI General Office, Patna and gave written application to close my policy and stop auto-debit.
However, on 26/07/2018 my sb account has been debited a premium of Rs. 2100/- by SBI General Insurance for the above mentioned policy which was requested to be cancelled. Even after the deactivation of auto-debit and auto-renewal, the same policy is activated again which certificate no. is 0033xxxxxx2.
I registered a complaint with SBI General Insurance through emails. But, SBI General Insurance is debiting the same premium for last two years without my permission and request for renewal of the policy in an unauthorized way.
I humbly request your office to register a legal case against SBI General Insurance for stealing money from account in an unauthorized way and running a corrupt system of auto-debit and auto-renewal of policy without seeking permission of a customer which causes monetary losses to customers. Also, I seek a compensation of two lakh rupees (Rs. 2,00,000) from SBI General Insurance for causing me harassment, wasting my time with deliberate intentions, and making me run to their office and SBI branches in the above matter.
