I booked a bus ticket on 14th Nov 2015 for journey dated 15th Nov 2015 from Indore to Pune in Verma Travels using the online ticket booking portal GoIbibo.
My seat number was 25. I boarded the bus and after boarding the bus I came to know there is no seat number 25 and 26 in the bus. The 2 seats were removed from the bus due to some RTO formalitites. The conductor tried to adjust to a different seat besides a male passanger, but I didnot accept the seat as I specifically booked a seat besides a female passanger. The conductor asked me to get down from the bus and claim refund from the travel agency(Verma Travels).
I went back to the travel agency and demanded refund but they denied giving the reason that since the booking has been done using the portal Goibibo and payment also done to the portal, claim refund to them.
I asked the bus operator(Verma travels) to give it to me in writing that I did not take the journey in their bus due to unavailable seat so that I could claim refund from the online portal. Otherwise there is no proof to tell them that I did not take the journey. They denied to give this to me in writing.
After a mental harrasment and torture of 3 hours to me and my family members, I was given a seat in another bus at 12:45am. I had no choice but to go in that bus.
The online portal claims a 24*7 support but they do not provide the same. I called the portal customer care several times on the day of the journey but there was no response.
I filed a complaint at Goibibo asking them refund of the ticket.(Request Id: 918478). They deny to return the amount. Goibibo portal accepts that the information provided by the travel agency(Verma travels) was wrong. They did not mention that seat number 25 and 26 is not available in their bus and so goibibo kept bookings open for these seats.
