I am a user of Airtel. Hathway was launched in our area and I was convinced to try Hathway. The executive asked us (me and my neighbor) to give post-dated cheques. On March 29, 2016, he took post dated cheques for April 3 with a promise that the connection would be up and running the next day and we can try it for 3 days before deciding.

Nobody came for installation and accordingly the order was cancelled on April 1, and we were assured that the cheques would be returned back to us. We were quite surprised to find that the cheques were encashed. On query, we were told that it was closing time and the money would be returned to us within 7 days.

After that we received repeated calls from Hathway asking us to change the decision and try their services. We agreed and accordingly, the wires were connected to our house on April 27. We were told that everything has been done and we can switch on the modem to start the connection.

We started the modem on April 30 only to find that the connection is still not working. We waited till May1 with the hope that the connection would start, but it didn’t. On complaining, we were told that a person has been dispatched and would be arriving at our home within one hour. Since nobody reached our place till May3, we sent a mail to you cancelling our order AGAIN, which was acknowledged by your delhi helpdesk on May 3 itself.

Incidentally, we finally received your technician on May 5, who informed us that the services could not be started since the cables were still being laid. I was quite aghast since the services were supposed to start from March 30 and there was no infrastructure till May.

Anyways, I was contacted by phone by the billing team and was told that the payment would be reverted back to me within 7 days. I again recieved a call in May wherein it was confirmed that the cancellation has been done and the payment would be returned within 30 days.

Since then, I have contacted them (on their call centre no. 46085777) a no. of times to find the status of the refund. Each time they tell me to write a mail to their team and wait for their response. They also assured me repeatedly that they have put in a request to arrange for a call back from the billing team to appraise me of the situation.

Till today (August 5, 2016) I have not received any response or call back from the billing team. Ms Mxxxxxxxxa is supposed to be the billing head (as per the call centre), but no response from her either. Wondering when the refund would happen?
