I’m salaried and work in the merchant navy. I get my salary credited in a NRE account in India. Whenever i apply for a credit card, I get a reply from credit card service providers that currently they do not issue credit cards to NR customers. I’ve made applications to all possible credit cards and rejected. Can you please advice on why I’m rejected. All my loans are paid on time and there have been no delays in payment, no bounces on emis. Cibil score also is above 750, but it only highlights that I’ve no experience of a credit card and hence the lower score.

Please advice me on how to get a credit card or what are the guidelines for getting one. Banks dont want to supply credit cards to people who earn in dollars but stay in India, They are the ones who are less likely to default on the credit card. At the same time they issue credit cards with huge limits to people, who would not utilise the limit as it exceeds their monthly income.
