I want to file a complaint against Indigo Airlines and their services.
I booked a flight ticket(Indigo Airlines) for Kolkata from Bangalore; Date of travel : 30th Jan’13 , on 3rd Nov’12 (Flight number: 6E 343) from Bangalore to Kolkata. Departure time mentioned on ticket was 5:10 pm, I reached Bangalore Airport @ 3.55 pm on 30th Jan’13 when i proceeded towards counter the gentleman asked the details of my journey and i shared the same but meanwhile madam sitting on counter gave me shocker stating flight was preponed and scheduled to depart by 4.45 pm and hence you are late and you can’t travel now, all this happened within 5/10 mins, i asked why it was not intimated to me in advance then she replied we mailed you in Dec month once on your yahoo id, i told may be due to spam or whatever may be i have not noticed the same, may be missed that particular mail which you send once only or may be you have not send also; i asked if you are preponing flight timing then it is responsibility of carrier to intimate the same to customer via calling/ sms to phone number which they are having with atleast 2/3 reminders against sending only one in Dec month, i subsequently pleaded that pls do something still time is there to take off but in vain after repeated pleading to them,. Then they routed me to other counter where option for me was to book fresh ticket and hence i had no option but follow the same. My original fare was Rs 4881 and they accomodated me to Bangalore Kolkata flight via chennai @ 7.10 pm (Flight number: 6E 277) and charged me Rs 6074 extra with breakup as Rs 4124+ Rs 1950(Accomodation charges). Not able to understand logic behind Accomodation charges; i argued for the same but again no one there to help me, make me understand the same, post this episode after reaching kolkata i found my new luggage bag (American Tourister) was torn/damage (tough its less but still brand new suitcase) is damage. Am really very dis satisfied with services i got and i want to complaint on this.
Flaws and Charges:- 1)When you have customer details like Phone number/E-mail id with you why you are not intimating the same via these communication channels, why sending only one mail in Dec month when i need to travel in Jan. Why not calling/sms or sending one mail (reminder mail) on Date of journey or one day prior to that.
2) Instead of solving the query of customer, staff behaves like you pay something then will say “Thank You”. Approach was not healthy and behavior was not at all acceptable since when you pay so much you desire some decent service.
3) Poor service since my bag was damage/torn.
Please help to take this ahead and need to take strict action on such things.
