Courier envelope open and products missing

I had some products from US. There were multiple products including some free samples. I received 2 parcels from at the same time one being a different parcel, since I order a lot online. I took both the parcel’s and opened the proper parcel first which was okay and then took the other parcel in hand which had a slit opening at the back side. I immediately check if there was anything in it and it only had very small 3 pouches, that of the free samples and none of the actual products that I had ordered. I could not go and check for the delivery man since it was too late. I then sent an email to the website and asked if they sent the free samples before and if I will be getting the other products later. After a couple of email exchanging, they said I should get it in written from my local post office that the Envelope that was delivered to me was damaged and send it to them and they will then reship the products to me. I am not sure if the local post office would cooperate because it has 4 days now that I have received the courier. And now being a weekend it will take another 2 days. If there is any help that I can get to resolve my issue, it will be highly appreciated. Thank you.
