I wish to bring to your attention a case of online shopping fraud I experienced through an Instagram-based seller.

Incident Details: I ordered 2 sarees and 2 blouses from an Instagram page named “Kanchivaram Sarees”. The seller contacted me over WhatsApp and confirmed my order. It was a Cash on Delivery (COD) order. They provided a tracking ID through Shipkart, and the courier partner was Delhivery.
The parcel was delivered to me on 9th July , and I paid ?1200 in cash. However, after opening the package, I found that the items were of extremely poor quality, completely different from what was shown on Instagram. Additionally, the products came in an Amazon packaging, raising doubts about the seller’s authenticity. I immediately informed the delivery executive and requested a return, but he said he was not authorized to return it unless I paid. I paid the full amount, and the payment was credited to Delhivery.
Post-delivery, I tried contacting the seller on WhatsApp, but they are not responding, even though they have read my messages. The delivery person also stopped responding after saying he would check with his manager. I have contacted Delhivery customer support, but they have declined responsibility and asked me to contact the seller directly.
This appears to be a well-planned online shopping scam, and I suspect the seller is defrauding multiple people using fake social media pages and COD orders.
