Complaints Resolved

Here are some of the complaints solved by us. There could many more that have not been reported to us. We request consumer members to report to us whenever a complaint is resolved.

Lenovo Laptop Diwali extended warranty Offer:

Swapnil Chaudhary of Dombivli(East), Maharashtra (Email: swapnil1011(at)gmail.com) booked for a Lenovo Laptop which came with extended warranty offer or free gifts. Mr. Chaudhary opted for extended warranty offer. However, it was later found that he was not given the extended warranty and he did not even receive the gifts which Lenovo said have been dispatched. Mr. Chaudhary posted his complaint on 25.11.2012 and the matter was taken up with Lenovo. After continuous follow-up and monitoring the issue was finally resolved by 22.01.2013.

Complaint against Oasis Resources Management – Rs.1,250/-:

Rohit Gulati, of Faridabad, Haryana (rohitgulati.com(at)gmail.com) had posted a complaint against Oasis Respurce Management Pvt Ltd that he had paid Rs.1,250/- for technical evaluation for Visa purpose and was told that this amount would be refunded if the candidate’s result was in the negative. The result turned out to be positive and he was preparing for the processing of his application which would cost Rs.85,000/-. However, Mr. Gulati found out that his wife (primary applicant) had been evaluated by an outdated system and she will not qualify under the new system. He had alleged that ORM deliberately evaluated his wife under old system so that processing fee could be collected. He had asked for refund but ORM was not willing to refund the money. He posted his complaint with ICF on 17.01.2013 and finally got his money back by 21-01-2013.

Oasis Resource Management

Refund from Indiaplaza – Rs.1,999/-

Mr. Sundaresan pillai of Kariavattom P.O, trivandrum-695581, Kerala (Email: pillaicampus(at)gmail.com) ordered for a Bluetooth hands free, as per their description in the web site of INDIAPLAZA.. But the item they sent was a different item. When Mr. Pillai informed them about the wrong item, he was asked to send the item back and they would replace with right item. But they send the same item back in a new packing! When Mr. Pillai contacted Indiaplaza again he was told that they did not have the product and they refund the money. The product was therefore returned and he has been contacting indiaplaza since 14-12-2012 for refund. Mr. Pillai posted his complaint with ICF on 09-01-2013 and finaly got the issue resolved.

Complaint against allschoolstuff.com regarding partial delivery:

Shilpa Parulekar of Sewree, mumbai -15, maharashtra (Email: shylpa(at)yahoo.com) ordered some goods with Allschoolstuff.com by paying advance money. Goods were delivered only in part and for the remaining goods Ms. Shilpa had been sending repeated reminders but to no avail. She posted her complaint with ICF on 09-01-2013 and finally her issue got resolved by 15-01-2013.

Replacement by Furniture Junction, Kolkata – Rs.53,000/-:

Sandhya Sinhamahapatra, East Beraberi, Kolkata – 700136, West Bengal (Email: sandhyasinhamahapatra(at)yahoo.com) booked two products in the exhibition of furniture at ‘Ice Sketting Ring’ from ‘Furniture Junction’ by giving Rs 1000 on 25th August 2012. Delivered product( Marble Dining Table(6+1)) was completely different from the ordered product & in case of 5 Doors Wardrobe with Mirror there was no change made but two drawers were vanished. (Also the fitting of wardrobe very bad. There are lot of hole.). Whene the issue was raisted with shop, it was told that they would change the product within one week and would make all change according to their promise. However, they didn’t keep their word and the issue was prolonged. She posted her complaint with ICF on 07-01-2013 finally the issue got resolved by 12-01-2013.

Furniture Junction, Kolkata

Refund from Indiatimes Shopping – Rs.5,999/-:

Mr. Sunil Kumar, near bala chowk. mohan garden 110059, Delhi (Email: lokesh2347(at)gmail.com) purchased TCL mini laptop(after reading the misleading ad in the times of india), order no -3001076490, for 5999 + 299 (shipping charges.) the product was of substandard quality, and it stopped working after very short time. He emailed to Indiatimes Shopping and registered a case for replacement. After telephonic conversation with Aramex (courier partner) his TCL mini laptop (along with mouse) was picked up on 11-7-2012. After this more than four months had passed, and Mr. Kumar did not get the replacement. All his emails were in vain. He posted his complaint with ICF on 02-12-2012 and got full refund by 01-01-2013.

Faulty blackberry delivered by Rediff Shopping – Rs.3,923/-:

Shirish Dalal of Andheri West, Mumbai 400 058, Maharastra Ordered Blackberry 8330 World Edition mobile from Rediff shopping. Order no – 7468136. He received the product and made payment of Rs.3923 COD. When he opened the pack later he found the device was defective. He tried calling Rediff contacts and send emails but there was no response from them. He posted his complaint with ICF on 17-11-2012 and ICF pursued the matter with Rediff shopping. Mr. Dalal finally got refund by way of a payorder on or about 24-12-2012 as confirmed by Rediff Shopping.

Website renewal was not done inspite of payment – Rs.2,404.50:

Suresh Thiagarajan of Basavanagar, Bangalore, Karnataka (Email: suresh_jewels(at)yahoo.com) had paid an amount of Rs. 2404.50 towards the domain renewal and hosting charges as of 20th Nov 2012 to Internet Worldwide, Bangalore – 560006 on 20/11/2012. The domain was due to expire by 12th Dec 2012. He also received the invoice for the amount paid and was assured that the domain will be renewed from 13th Dec 2012 to 12th Dec 2013. However, on 13th Dec 2012, the domain was not renewed and was blocked for non-payment. Despite emails and telephone calls the domain remained blocked. Mr. Thiagarajan posted his complaint with ICF on20-12-2012 and the complaint was taken up with the service providers. Finally the issue got resolved and domain became active by 20-12-2012.
