Here are some of the complaints solved by us. There could many more that have not been reported to us. We request consumer members to report to us whenever a complaint is resolved.
HindwareBilled more than MRP by Hindware – Rs.844/-:
Mr. Sasank Motamarry of Hyderabad, Andhra pradesh (Email: mvvnsasank(at)gmail.com) purchased a Florence seat cover at HSIL secunderabad office located at Ashoka Bhupal Chambers, 5th floor on 24th November 2012. He was charged an amount of 2700/- INR ( Reciept # 51194) informing that the orginal cost is around 3100/- INR and with a 15% discount. Infact the bill was directly made for the 2700/- amount, there was no original cost, no discount mentioned. The price tag on the item was mentioned as 1856/- INR and MFD is 16th November 2012. He had sent mails to the IDs available on the website on November 27th and 28th but did not get any response back form them. Mr. Motamarry posted his complaint with ICF on 14-12-2012 and the matter was taken up with Hindware. Finally the excess charged amount was returned to Mr. Motamarry on or about 19-12-2012.
EbayRefund from Ebay for sending defective book – Rs.1690/-:
Manoj Kumar Gupta of Ramamurthy Nagar, Bangalore, Karnatka (Email: xmgupta(at)gmail.com) purchased a book woth of 1690/- rupees on 18th throgh ebay & received the same on 2nd Nov 2012 in which 20-30 pages are blur and not readable. So he raised a complaint with ebay who said they would return the money. Then they called the customer on 9th Nov saying that the seller says the book was of good quality and no calim can be entertained. Since Ebay rejected his claim Mr. Gupta posted his complaitn with ICF on 26-11-2012. ICF pursued the matter with Ebay and the publishers and finally Mr. Gupta got his money back by 13-12-2012.
indiaemporium.comRefund from Indiaemporium.com – Rs.2,899/-:
Arun P Thampi of Chengelpet, Kancheepuram Chennai 603202, Tamilnadu (Email: arunpthampi(at)gmail.com) placed an order with on October 27, 2012 at indiaemporium.com by paying full amount. Of Rs.2,899/-. Since the day, the order was in processing status and Mr. Thampi lodged a complaint regarding this on December 04,2012. He did not receive any response and his calls were not attended to. He posted his complaint with ICF on 16-12-2012 and finally got his refund by 23-12-2012.
Expedia.comRefund from Expedia.com – Rs.9,925/-:
Ms. Namrata Arora of ASHWINI LAYOUT, BANGALORE, KARNATAKA (Email: namratagrover27(at)gmail.com) For cancellation of a US domestic flight booked at Expedia.co.in, the customer care personnel told that Ms. Arora would get the refund in 6-10 working days after deduction of INR 1000. However, she did not get the refund. She posted her complaint with ICF on 30-11-2012 and finally got her refund by 8-12-2012.
Akbar TravelsRefund from Akbar Travels (Rs.4,880):
Dr Lopamudra Moharana of Rue La De Lauristan, Pondicherry had posted her complaint on 03-12-2013 regarding non-receipt of refund for the flights cancelled by Air India without any information to the passenger. Mrs. Lopamudra had been communicating over email and telephone with Air India and Akbar travels but refund was not forthcoming. ICF took up the matter with Akbar Travels and Dr. Lopamudra finally got her refund on or about 08.12.2012.
Ega Cinemas - 08.12.2012Refund from Ega Cinemas, Chennai – Rs.1500/-:
Kumar Sumit of Kakkan Street, Near SRM college, Potheri, Chennai-603203, Tamil Nadu (Email:chaurasia.sumit2011(at)gmail.com) tried to book 6 tickets in ega which near chennai egmore from the site http://www.egacinemas.com/ but it redirected me to http://www.ticketgreen.com. He booked tickets through icici debit card with ticket value of Rs 750. After successful payment when he was redirected back to http://www.ticketgreen.com but it gave error message stating transactions was not completed but the the amount was deducted from his account. He tried again but again Rs.750 was deducted with unsuccessful booking. On the same day i called them several times but and mailed but could not get his money back. He then posted his complaint at 04-12-2012 and finally got his refund on or about 08-12-2012.
Yepme.com - 07.12.2012Refund from Yepme.com – Rs.1046/-
Amrita Seal of New Alipur, West Bengal (Email: amrita.seal88(at)gmail.com) had ordered Two product in Yepme.com (online shopping) worth Rs.1046. Yepme mailed Mr. Seal that since the product was out of stock they will refund the money. However, till lodging the complaint with ICF on 05-12-2012 he did not receive refund. After pursuing the complaint with Yepme Mr. Seal finally got refund by 06-12-2012.
TTK Prestige - 06.12.2012Prestige Grinder servicing by TTK:
Naveen Kumar, Vaanagaram Road, Athipet, Ambattur, Chennai, Tamilnadu (Email: naveen_5050(at)yahoo.com) had bought a prestige grinder on 16th July 2011. From the day he was having problems with the machine. He many times but he was not getting service from Prestige. He posted his complaint with ICF on 26-11-2012 and ICF pursued the matter with Prestige. The issue finally got resolved to the customer’s satisfaction by 06-12-2012.
