I am writing to formally highlight a deeply distressing and unresolved issue involving Foray Software Pvt. Ltd., a consulting firm, and their client TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) from August 2018. I was interviewed by both Foray and TCS Pune for a role at the TCS Delhi office, with the understanding that I would be working on Foray’s payroll but at TCS Pune’s location. My resume clearly mentioned that I was an ex-TCS employee, and this was also discussed during the interview. Despite knowing this, TCS cleared my interview and Foray issued me an official offer letter with a confirmed joining date.
Trusting their communication, I relocated from Gurgaon to Pune, along with my 3-year-old daughter and elderly mother, to take up this opportunity. In the process, I bore all relocation expenses, including:
15 days of hotel stay
Flight/train travel
Accommodation for three people
Daily commuting costs
I joined and worked at TCS Pune for over a month, reporting daily, fulfilling the role as communicated.
After over a month, I was suddenly informed that my Background Check (BGC) had been rejected — not due to any fault or missing documents, but because TCS does not rehire ex-TCS employees, even through third-party payroll.
This was shocking and completely unacceptable — because TCS themselves conducted the interview, reviewed my profile, and selected me, fully knowing I was an ex-TCS employee. This disqualification should have been flagged at the very beginning, not after a month of actual working, relocation, and financial investment.
What followed was even more disappointing:
No salary was ever paid for the time I worked
No relocation or hotel expenses were reimbursed
No communication or accountability was offered from Foray
I was forced to return home jobless, after investing close to ?2 lakhs from my own pocket
Even after repeated follow-ups, they never responded, leaving me in a financial crisis when I was already unemployed.
I have all the emails and offer letters.
