Complaints Resolved

Here are some of the complaints solved by us. There could many more that have not been reported to us. We request consumer members to report to us whenever a complaint is resolved.

Refund from Homeshop18 – Rs.5,699/-:  Mr. Dileep Kumar Gupta of Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh (Email: shivshantgupta[@]gmail.com) ordered a projector with Homeshop18, and receive this by paying cash 5699/-. But the product did not work and was sent back to Homeshop18. He however did not get refund and posted his complaint with ICF on 05-01-2015. The matter was taken up with Homeshop18 and got his money back by 24-02-2015.

Refund from Lenovo – Rs.16,990/-:  Aditi Rindani of Vadodara, Gujarat (aditi.rindani[@]gmail.com) bought a Lenovo p780 phone in January. The phone randomly started throwing tantrums, network connectivity was lost and on one fine morning, it just stopped working, The device was submitted to the service center but she did not get delivery of the same after service. She submitted her complaint at ICF on 25-11-2014 and the matter was taken up with Lenovo. The customer finally got refund for the set on or about 10-01-2015.

Refund from GoIbibo – Rs.1,145/-: Sudeshna Basu Mallick of Balanagar, Hyderabad, AP (sude.basu[@]gmail.com) had booked a Deluxe Non AC Room for her parents Hotel Kinnera Comforts at goibibo.com on November 8th. However when her parents went to check in they were told they had to pay Rs 1145 extra as the booking was done in November at a rebate but in December the rates have risen. Her father was forced to pay the extra amount and GoIbibo were not willing to compensate for the excess amount. Ms. Sudeshna posted her complaint with ICF on 24-12-2014 and the matter was taken up with GoIbibo and the hotel. Finally, after much pursuance, the customer got refund by 11-01-2015.

Refund from Lenovo – Rs.17,000:  Mr. Manish Advani,  Chembur, Mumbai, Maharashtra (manish.advani[@]mahindrassg.com) had submitted his Lenovo P780 for repairs on 13-11-2014 and was told that he would get back the device in 10 days. But even after two weeks the device was not ready and he was told that the spares are not available. Mr. Advani posted his complaint with ICF on 27-11-2014 and the matter was taken up with Lenovo. Mr. Advani finally got refund for the phone by 7-1-2015.

Refund from Snapdeal for return of damaged product – Rs.4,469/: Mrs. Lina Heredia of Mumbai, Maharashtra (russel_athaide[@]hotmail.com) ordered a “study table with 3 Drawers” from Snapdeal which arrived in damaged condition. Though snapdeal agreed to take it back they asked the customer to return the product with a reimbursable courier charge of Rs.400/-. However, the customer could not find any courier for Rs.400/- to deliver the product and Snapdeal were not willing to co-operate. Mrs. Lina posted her complaint with ICF on 28-11-2014 and the matter was taken up with Snapdeal. The product was taken back and the customer got refund by 31-12-2014.

Refund from MMT – Rs.1,600/- : Mr Sangin Soni, Vadodara  390010, Gujarat (sangin.soni[@]cssgroupindia.com) booked ticket on makemytrip website on 5th Dec’14 from Ahmedabad to Pune. He did not get any confirmation from MMT or transaction SMS from the credit card company. Therefore he booked the same ticket through another travel portal. After this booking, the customer got SMS on his mobile from travel company for the first failed booking on MMT. Customer contacted MMT for refund against the failed transaction but they did not entertain his compliant. Mr. Soni posted his complaint with ICF on 17-12-2014 and the matter was taken up with MMT and he got refund by 20-12-2014.

Replacement of Iball Mobile Phone -Rs.7,100/-:  Mr. Kaustabh Sen of Kolkata 700006, West Bengal (kaustabhsen@gmail.com) had given his phone for repairs to the service center on 09/10/2014. They said that the model had been discontinued and hence it was not possible to repair or replace the phone. Customer was asked to settle the issue by paying Rs. 843  for which they would provide him with a phone slightly better in features. The customer was not happy about the warranty for the  product. This was somewhat acceptable but the warranty provided was not acceptable to the customer. The replacement phone was a refurbished one. Mr. Sen posted his complaint with ICF on 27-11-2014. ICF guided Mr. Sen in pursuing the matter and was finally given a new replacement phone by 17-12-2014.

Refund from Rediff.com shopping – Rs.1,328/-: Susheel Kumar of Manimajra, Chandigarh (sush_kumar3[@]rediffmail.com) bought a product from rediff.com on 30-11-2014 but did not receive the product even after two weeks. He was given an AWB number but it did not exist. He then requested them to cancel the order but rediff.com was not willing to cancel the order. He posted  his complaint with ICF on 14-12-2014 and the matter was taken up with Rediff.com. Mr. Kumar got his refund by 19-12-2014.
