Here are some of the complaints solved by us. There could many more that have not been reported to us. We request consumer members to report to us whenever a complaint is resolved.

Replacement of Micromax mobile by lalajionline.com:

Mr. Suraj Kakwani of Thane, Maharashtra(Email: suraj_8288(at)hotmail.com) purchased one Micromax mobile from lalajionline.com. The mobile had camera problem and was replaced by Lalaji. However, even the replacement mobile was a defective one. Repeated follow-ups by Mr. Kakwani produced no results and he posted his complaint with ICF on 27.11.2012. The issue was resolved by replacement of the mobile by Lalaji.

Hidden charges by Makemytrip – USD 70.50 (approx INRS 3,650):

Sainath Akula, Parkcrest Cir, VA (Email: sainath.a(at)gmail.com) purchased travel tickets from http://www.makemytrip.com for self and family. After the transaction he noticed additional fee of $70.50 as Foreign Transactional fee in credit card statement which was never disclosed by the agent. He raised complaint and sent and email via MMT’s website but there was no response. Mr. Akula posted his complaint with ICF on 23-11-2012 and the matter was taken up with MMT who finally refunded the money to Mr. Akula on or about 27-11-2012.

Refund not received from Housefull international Mumbai- Rs.7440/-

Yasodharan Lakshmanan, venkulam, edava-695141, Kerala (Email: yasodharan(at)hotmail.com) placed order with m/s Housefull international Mumbai on 19/10/12 and paid Rs7440 by net banking. He contacted them to know the status after 3 days and was told that for Kerala min Rs40,000 order is required. Mr. Yasodharan then requested for refund and send send several e mails but there was no reply. He posted his complaint at ICF on 03-11-2012 and the matter was pursued by ICF. Mr. Yasodharan finally got his refund by 26-11-2012.

Housefull International - 26.11.2012

NOKIA not honouring Warranty:

Vijay Shanker, Bommair palayam, NEAR PONDICHERRY, Tamil Nadu (Email: vsjsatsanga(at)gmail.com) had a very bad experience in PONDICHERRY where Nokia mobile phone was taken to their service centre, who kept it overnight for 24 hours in their shop, messed around with the instrument, probably damaged it beyond repair and then REFUSED TO REPLACE THE PHONE THAT WAS WELL WITHIN the ONE YEAR WARRANTY. The mobile phone was just 8 months old. Mr. Vijay Shanker want Nokia to remedy the situation by restoring it to good condition or get a new phone in replacement. He posted his complaint with ICF on 01-11-2012 and the matter was pursued with Nokia. Mr. Shanker finally repaired the device free of cost and restored it to good working condition.

Repair/replacement of Samsonite AT Prismo Spinner – Rs.9,950/-:

Sarita Hegde Roy, Apollo Bunder Mumbai 400 001, Maharashtra, bought a Prismo Spinner Samsonite bag at Bagzone Lifestyles Pvt.Ltd (New BEL Road, Bangalore 560094). In just one trip the bag got frayed in more than one place and looked old and battered. She registered a complaint on Samsonite India’s online feedback form on 15th October 2012. However, there was no action on the part of the manufacturer / seller to remedy the issue and they refused to accept that there was anything wrong with the bag design. The customer posted her complaint at ICF on 26-10-2012 and the same was pursued by ICF with Samsonite. Finally, the customer got a replacement on or around 17-11-2012.

Replacement of Micromax Aisha A52 – Rs.5,441/-:

Tushar Kanti Ghosh of South Biresh Pally, Madhyamgram, Kolkata – 700129, West Bengal (Email: anirban.ninja(at)gmail.com) had bought one ‘Micromax Aisha A52? smartphone from ‘The MobileStore’ at Madhyamgram, Kolkata-700129 on 23rd July. But to his great dismay he found that the set is having many problems which made it almost unusable. The problems which I have faced are frequent call drops, contacts missing, very low battery life and the phone freezes often while in operation. He visited the aforesaid store and thereafter Micromax’s service center for resolving the issue they did not provide any assistance. He posted his complaint on 30-08-2012. After much follow-up the handset was finally replaced on or about 15-11-2012.

Refund from Rediff.com shopping Rs.555/-:

Zaheer Naik, Vishal Nagar, Hubli-580024, Karnataka ordered through rediff shopping an Electric air compressor tyre pump with the confirmed order no. 7399362 by paying Rs.555. On 17th Sep he got a mail from Rediff that the order was reversed, and the amount would be refunded. Mr. Naik did not receive refund and posted his complaint with ICF on 30-10-2012. He finally got his refund on 7.11.2012.

Complaint against Rediff shopping for delivering wrong product – 1598/-:

Dr. Danish Qureshi HBU nagar, Ajmer, rajasthan had placed an order with Rediff shopping site on 22.09.12 for hair straighter and curler as seen on television, along with instyler. Though he had ordered he had not confirmed it and had requested Rediff to keep it on hold. However, the product was delivered and Mr. Qureshi found that a wrong product with a dubious brand name had been delivered. He lodged complaint with Rediff and asked them to replace it or refund the money. But there was no action from Rediff shopping to resolve the issue. Dr. Qureshi posted his complaint with ICF on 28-10-2012 and got his refund on or around 07-11-2012.
