Here are some of the complaints solved by us. There could many more that have not been reported to us. We request consumer members to report to us whenever a complaint is resolved.
Makemytrip - 02.08.2010Refund complaint against MakeMyTrip – Rs.62,589/-:
Mr. Xavier Selvaraj of Chennai, Tamilnadu (sales.suryaasys(at)gmail.com) had booked through MakeMyTrip on 7th for his cousin to Mexico after confirming that no transit visa is required. However, Air France did not allow him to board the flight from Mumbai. MakeMyTrip had told him to make his own arragements from Mumbai and they said they bear the expenses and fare difference. However, MMT failed to reimburse Mr. Selvaraj and his reminders and phone calls to MMT for four months did not help. Mr. Selvaraj posted his complaint with ICF on 10-07-2010. Mr. Selvaraj finally got his reimbursement by 02-08-2010.
ICICI Bank - 30.06.2010Complaint regarding ICICI Bank credit card settlement:
Mr. Umesh Yawalkar of Pune(info(at)smrtec.com) had posted a complaint with the Forum in connection with his dispute with ICICI Bank credit card account. He had also complained about false commitment given by ICICI collection agency Ganaraj Services Pune that their representative collected a payment of RS. 15000/- from Mr Yawalkar against settlement of his credit card account and the card account was supposed to be settled for Rs. 45000/- as assured by the Agency. However, nothing as assured by the Agency took place and Mr. Umesh Yawalkar did not get any assistance from ICICI in resolving the issue of settling his credit card dues. This Forum submitted Mr. Yawalkar’s complaint to ICICI Bank and also advised Mr Yawalkar of the merits of the case. The issue was finally sorted out to Mr.Yawalkar’s satisfaction after getting some concession in late payment charges and interest component.
Makemytrip - 26.07.2010Complaint against MakeMyTrip for short-refund – Rs.4,285/-:
Mr. Angad Nagpal of Delhi (Email: angad_21(at)hotmail.com) had received short payment of refund against the cancellation of Kingfisher Airlines flight booked through MakeMyTrip in the sum of Rs.4,285/-. After not receiving the short paid refund amount even after reminders, Mr. Nagpal posted his complaint with ICF. ICF took up the matter with MMT and Mr. Nagpal received his balance refund amount on 26-07-2010.
Makemytrip - 20.07.2010Claim against MakeMyTrip / Shiftthoughts Consulting – Rs.5500/-:
Mr. Brij Mohan Bhatt of New Delhi (brij.bhatt(at)maxbupa.com) had done a transaction with Shiftthoughts Consulting on 03-10-2009 to avail an offer through MakeMyTrip.com for the value of Rs.5,513.90. Mr. Bhatt neither received the coupon nor any communication from MMT. They did not agree to refund the money. Mr Bhatt posted his complaint with the Forum on 04-06-2010 and the Forum took up the same with MMT. After follow-up and further negotiations, MMT refunded the full money back on 20-07-2010.
Apollo Munich - 15.07.2012Complaint against ApolloMunich for mediclaim settlement – Rs.32,200/-:
Mr. Ajay Sharma of New Delhi (Email: sharmaji38(at)gmail.com) underwent surgery for Appendicitis at Saraswati Hospital And Cancer Care Centre on 23 March and was discharged on 26 March. The total cost of treatment was Rs.32,200/- and was paid by him in cash, in full. Mr. Sharma submitted his claim with full documents to Apollo-Munich Insurance Company. His claim was not settled even after many reminders on the basis of a false investigation reported provided by the hospital. Mr. Sharma submitted his complaint with ICF on 05-06-2010. ICF took up the matter with Apollo, and after much follow-up with Apollo Mr. Sharma got his settlement cheque on 15-07-2010.
Oriental Insurance - 05.07.2012Mediclaim complaint against Oriental Insurance / Raksha TPA – Rs.2,00,000/-:
Mr. Manoj Agrawal of Powai, Maharashtra (agrawalmanoj(at)hotmail.com) submitted a medical reimbursement claim for Vascular surgery (jugular vein) under policy with Oriental Insurance Co. LTD. Mumbai and their (TPA) Raksha TPA pvt.ltd on 5th March 2010. He had also submitted all the documents required by the TPA. However, the TPA was delaying the settlement and there was no communication from them. Mr. Manoj submitted his complaint to ICF on 03-06-2010 which ICF took up with Oriental and Raksha TPA. The claim was finally settled on or about 05-07-2010 after follow-up by ICF and Mr. Manoj Agrawal.
Big Bazar - 30.06.2012Complaint against Big Bazaar – Product not available against order:
Mr. Arjun Ankathil (Email: ankathil.arjun(at)gmail.com) of Pune, Maharastra purchased a Whirlpool Splash washing machine from Big Bazaar Chinchwad on 11 June 2010. As the product was not available at that time, he placed an order for it and was promised a delivery for it within 10 days. On 23rd June 2010 Mr. Arjun was informed that the product cannot be delivered and he has to select some other product. His request to refund the amount to my account was not considered. He posted his complaint with ICF on 23-06-2010 which ICF submitted to Big Bazaar, following which the complaint was resolved by Big Bazaar to the customer’s satisfaction.
Mr. Ujjwal Zamad, Thane, Maharashtra - 18.06.2010Complaint against ITBC for Holiday Vouchers – Rs.5,943:
Mr. Ujjwal Zamad of Thane, Maharashtra (ujjwal.zamad(at)onida.com) purchased Holiday Vouchers from India Today Book club ( invoice dated 26/05/2009) for Rs.5,943 (Membership No.: ITBC0934767). He had been requesting ITBC for booking of holidays for the past few months but there was no assistance from ITBC. He posted the complaint with ICF on 12-06-2010 and ICF submitted the same to ITBC / Big City. The complaint was finally resolved and Mr. Ujjwal Zamad got holiday booking on 18-06-2010.
