Here are some of the complaints solved by us. There could many more that have not been reported to us. We request consumer members to report to us whenever a complaint is resolved.
Mr. Sumeet Kumar, Delhi - 07.03.2010Refund claim against Yatra.com – Rs.5089/-:
Mr. Sumeet Kumar of Delhi (sumeetkumardas(at)hotmail.com) had booked a ticket from yatra.com from Delhi to Bangalore on 5th Jan 2010 and subsequently cancelled it on the same day. Yatra said that money 4839.00 will be refunded by 6th of same month. But he did not receive refund even after two weeks. He had also booked a ticket with same organisation on 13th jan 2010, the ticket was not booked but amount of 250.00 was deducted. Even that amount was not refunded. Mr. Kumar’s had called them many times but was not successful in getting the refund. He lodged a complaint with ICF on 21-01-2010 and after continuous follow-up with Yatra by ICF and Mr. Kumar, the refund was obtained on 07-03-2010.
Makemytrip.com - 05.03.2010Complaint against MakeMyTrip.com for non-receipt of refund against delayed flights from Milwaukee to Delhi via Chicago and Frankfurt:
Mr. Kumar Vijay Mishra (vizziee(at)yahoo.com) of Fort Collins CO USA 80521 had booked a ticket from Milwaukee to Delhi via Chicago and Frankfurt (on 5th Feb 2010) and back on the same route (on 12th Feb 2010). The United Airlines flight (from Milwaukee to Chicago) in the booking got delayed and so the entire trip was missed out. The Chicago–Frankfurt-Delhi route was on Air India. When Mr. Mishra contacted United Airlines people first, they told him that since the entire trip was through Air India, they don’t have any money for the refund and I should contact Air India. When Mr. Mishra contacted AI, they told to contact makemytrip as the tickets were booked through MakeMyTrip. So Mr. Mishra started contacting makemytrip’s customer care, however he was not successful in obtaining the refund. He posted a complaint with ICF on 18-02-2010 and ICF submitted the matter to MakeMyTrip. After following-up the matter with MakeMyTrip, Mr. Mishra finally got his refund on 04-03-2010.
Complaint against Hindustan Lever Pureit.
Mr. Rupendrasinh Parmar of Narmada, Gujarat (Email: kaalirupen(at)yahoo.co.in) had lodged a complaint on 01-03-2010 regarding servicing of his defective Pureit. ICF had submitted the complaint to Hindustan Lever and the same was resolved on 02-03-2010.
United Bank of India - 29.01.2010Cash not dispensed in ATM but account debited – Rs.2,100/-:
Mr. N.C.Baruah of Bangalore (nb7831@gmail.com) used his UBI ATM at State Bank of India Sadasivanagar personal banking branch ATM on 5/4/09 to withdraw cash. Although the transaction was declined, his A/C with UBI was debited without cash being dispensed and without any transaction slip. Mr. Baruah had registered a complaint with UBI online, SBI online as well as with UBI Dibrugarh Branch, Assam, by filling in the complaint form. However even after nine months no action was taken. Mr. Baruah posted his complaint with ICF on 24-01-2010 and ICF pursued the matter with the bank. Mr. Baruah got his credit back on 29-01-2010.
Makemytrip.com - 26.01.2010MakeMyTrip.com fails to pay full refund – Rs.1000/-:
Mr. Soutik Das (das.soutik@indiatimes.com) of Kolkata had received Rs.1,000/- short against the cancellation refund of his air tickets booked through MakeMyTrip.com. He posted a complaint with ICF on 20-01-2010 and ICF pursued the same with MakeMyTrip.com. Mr. Das got back his refund on 25-01-2010.
Paramount Airways - 16.01.2010Refund claim against Paramount Airways – Rs.5,954/-:
On 23-06-2009 Mr. Mathews Prabhakaran of Chennai (mathews@fiwbs.in) booked a ticket to Delhi from Chennai thro’ online in Paramount Airways. Paramount airways staff later informed Mr. Prabhakaran on 06.07.09 that the flight scheduled for 12.07.09 was cancelled and the full refund would be credited to his card account. Mr. Prabhakaran did not receive the refund till 26-12-2009. ICF pursued the claim with Paramount Airways and Mr. Prabhakaran finally got the refund on 16-01-2010.
Nivea - 11.01.2010Complaint against Nivea Soft Cream – Rs.1,529/-:
Mrs. Rekha Goyal of Nangal, Punjab (goyal1961@yahoo.co.in) had posted a complaint with ICF on 02-12-2009 with regard to Nivea Soft Cream purchased from the local market. She had stated that her faced swelled on using the cream and she incurred Rs.1,529/- for treatment. ICF submitted the claim to Nivea and on 11-01-2010 Mrs. Rekha Goyal has confirmed that she got refund of cost of nivea soft and medical expenses.
Omaxe - 07.01.2010Complaint against Omaxe Ltd. for non-receipt of refund money – Rs.3,00,000/-:
Mr. Yogesh Chandra Srivastava of Lucknow (yogesh_c2001@sify.com) had paid Rs 300,000/- to Omaxe Ltd. towards pre-booking amount of a flat in the Jaipur project thru second purchase. The title & assignment was duly registered by Omaxe in Mr. Yogesh’s and his wife’s name. As the builder had not acquired land for the project and it was getting delayed, Mr. Yogesh applied for refund on 12/03/2009. However, he did not get his refund inspite of repeated complaints and he posted his complaint with ICF on 21-12-2009. ICF submitted the complaint to Omaxe and after a couple of email exchanges Mr. Yogesh finally got his refund money together with interest on 07-01-2010.
