While the government had reduced the gst rates to 12%, restaurants keep charging 18% instead of 12%. I had a conversation with the owner and he said that he did not get any official notice and therefore he’ll keep charging 18%.
These owners should be fined and taught a lesson that they cannot play the consumers. Consumers are the king pin and they should not try to evade tax by cheating on the consumers. I also have the original bill with me.
