I bought a HTC Desire 816 G from Mobile World India, E 34, Milap Nagar, Uttam Nagar, New Delhi on 27 Nov 14 for INR 16900. Additionally, I paid INR 1690 against the insurance of the mobile phone to the dealer, who provided us a challan / receipt of acknowledgment of Insurance. The third party Insurance Provider is Home Serve, 27/5, Ashok Nagar, Delhi -110018, this insurance is good for 24 months from the date of purchase.

Now, on 12th Dec. 2015, my phone got slipped from my hand and Its touch got damaged. I immediately called the customer care of Home Serve (8800339892/011-64646563) but I was unable to connect to them. I along with my colleagues, went to its physical address only to found out a temple on that address. There was no company by this name on that address.

When I contacted the dealer, Mobile World India, they confirmed that the third party Insurance provider is a fraud company. It ran away with the money.

Now, what am I suppose to do in this case as I have already paid a sum of INR 1690 (10% of the total bill amout) as Insurance amount.
Dealer said that it will cost me another INR 2200 in repairing.

My concern is if this was not the trustworthy vendor, then dealer shouldn’t have recommended it in the first place. And if he had recommended, then in my case he should have taken the charge and repaired my phone on NO or NOMINAL charges. Afterall, on his recommendation, I invested my hard earned money in a company which I had never heard of.

Hope you take this matter on priority and help me in getting a resolution to this.

Apart from this, I am seeking a compensation of INR 30000 against this harrasment
