I booked a bus ticket for travel from Chennai to Trichy through the Yatra Website with reference no. 2009997241565. The date of booking is Sept.20, 2019 @ 1150h, date of travel is Sept.20,2019, boarding point is Ayyapan Temple, Chengalpet @ 1925h and the operator PNR is I269699952.
I was waiting at the boarding point from 1915h to 2115h but the bus did not arrive and on enquiry with bus operator, I was informed that the number of reservations in the bus was very low and hence the bus is cancelled and full refund will be done. There is no message about the cancellation sent to me. As it was a Friday, due to weekend, all buses were running full and I could not get any alternate ticket. I could not perform the travel and has a huge monetary loss as I missed an important appointment meeting.
While the customer is charged almost 90% of the fare if the ticket is cancelled by the customer, bus operator cancels the bus at any point of time and there is no penalty to them.
In view of the pain and agony I experienced and the monetary loss to me, due to the cancellation of the bus by the operator (M/s. KPN Travels India Limited), I demand a compensation of Rs.20,000 in addition to the full refund of the fare.

its been 4 years now… and the history repeats. Dont think any action will be taken.
