131. Vodafone increased bill amount:

Ravikumar B, Bangalore, Karnataka (Email: ravi.bgm1@gmail.com) posted a complaint with ICF on 12-03-2012 regarding wrong billing charges by Vodafone. Mr. Ravikumar was getting 500MB 3G free usage and the same was communicated to him by the costumer care while activating 3g service. However, the free 3G data useage was deactivated without any prior information and he was charged for 500 MB. The bill thus increased nearly Rs 3200 Because of the wrong information provided by Vodafone costumer care. Aftering taking up the issue with Vodafone, the bill was revised to Rs.773/-.

132. Refund from Makemytrip:

Puneet Gupta, Indirapuram, Ghaziabad (Email: puneet.kgupta@igatepatni.com) tried to do a booking but could not succeed. He was assured that the refund would be processed by 6th March 2012 but until 20-03-2012 he did not get his refund. The matter was taken up with MMT and he finally got his refund by 21-03-2012.

133. Complaint against Standard Chartered Bank for wrong late payment charges – Rs.1650.69

SUNIL VASU, SAKINAKA, MUMBAI (Email: tvsunil1@rediffmail.com) was wrongly charged late payment fees Rs.1650.69 by Standard Chartered Bank even though he had made payment well before the due date. He posted his complaint with ICF on 16-03-2012 and the issue was resolved after reversal of the fees.

134. Refund from Travel Chacha8468:

Harsh Khare, Plano, Texas (Email: khare.harsh@gmail.com) had booked 2 tickets from New delhi to Jabalpur on 20th august 2011. The booking was conformed by travel chacha and a booking reference no was given. But due to some reason Mr. Khare had to cancel the ticket. He was assured that the refund would process within 25-30 days. But he did not get refund until 31-03-2012 when he posted his complaint with ICF. The matter was taken up with Travelchacha and Mr. Khare got his refund by 04-04-2012.

135. Cancellation of ticket Redbus.in

R Yaswanth, Bangalore, Karnataka (Email: yasw_anth@yahoo.com) booked bus tickets from Bangalore to Chennai on 28-02-2012 for journey on 22-03-2012. The booking was done with Roadlink India @ Rs.400/- for Volvo bus.On 22-03-2012, while on the way to board the bus, Mr. Yaswanath received a message on his mobile that his ticket has been cancelled. Since Mr. Yaswanath was half way, he continued the journey towards the boarding point where a person representing roadlink India cooked up a story that tickets were cancelled 2 weeks ago and that redbus did not intimate Mr. Yaswanath. It was found from the booking list that his seat no. owas given to some other person for mar 22 2012. Mr. Yaswanath repeatedly tried to contact Redbus but did not get any information from them regarding this mess. Mr. Yaswanath posted his complaint with ICF and subsequently the issue was resolved by way of compensation.

136. Refund from Travelchacha

Mr. Tusar Ranjan Pal, Raipur, Chhattisgarh (Email: pal.tusar@gmail.com) had canceled flight ticket on date 28th Dec 2011 through M/s Travel Chacha. They had mailed the refund amount detail and mentioned that the amount will be refunded to his account within 25-30 working days. After this until 27-03-2012 he did not get his refund despite repeated reminders. He posted his complaint with ICF on 27-03-2012 which was taken up with Travelchacha. Mr. Pal finally got his refund on or about 07-04-2012.

137. Quarterly Balance Maintenance charges by ICICI – Rs.828/-

Mr. Sumit Gupta, Aligarh, UP (Email: sumitkumargupta@gmail.com) had a joint account in ICICI Bank Ltd., On 17/08/11, 17/10/11 & 19/01/12 276/- each were debited from our account (total = 276*3= 828/-) on account of PriQABchgs. On enquiry, he was told that since the a/c was upgraded to Gold, minimum 50k balance needs to be maintained quarterly. As per Mr. Gupta the bank had not given any prior intimation before changing the nature of account. The bank asked him to submit an application for downgrading the account and for reversal of charges. The account was downgraded but charges were not reversed. Mr. Gupta post his complaint with ICF on 10-04-2012 which in turn was taken up with ICICI Bank. The charges were finally reversed on 11-04-2012 and Mr. Gupta’s account credited with the deducted amount.

138. Replacement Guruji Thandai

Mr. Rajesh Trivedi, Mumbai (rajeshtrivedi2001@yahoo.com) bought Guruji Thandai in Dec 2011, the manufacturing date printed on bottel was Oct-2011. The bottle was stored in fridge all the time but then too since last one month it started showing fungus inside the bottle. The customer care department refused to replace the same. ICF presented the issue to Guruji and Mr. Trivedi got replacement on or about 12 April 2012.

139. Refund from Travelchacha – Rs.11,850/-

Mr. Christopher Anthony, Chandrapura, Jharkhand (Email: sambosco81@gmail.com) booked a flight ticket for four members on Spicejet dt. Dec 07 2011 12:34, but due to some problem cancelled the ticket at that moment only. He did not get refund even by April 2012. Whenever he tried to call Travelchacha he was told that the refund section was busy and to call after sometime. Mr. Anthony finally posted his compliant with ICF on 10-04-2012 and the matter was taken up with Travelchacha. Mr. Anthony finally got his refund on 12-04-2012.

140. Deactivation of DishTV account:

Mr. Seenivasan Ponnusamy’s (of Salem, Tamilnadu – Email: ponseenivasan@gmail.com) Dish TV account was deactivated on the ground that it was used out of India. But as per the customer Dish TV unit was never used out of India. The recharging was done through online for ‘South Indian Silver Pack’ monthly plan. Inspite of repeated complaints DishTV failed to activate the account. Mr. Ponnusamy posted his complaint with ICF on 17-04-2012 and after several email exchanges the issue was finally resolved by May 2, 2012.

141. E-Coupon from Makemytrip:

Mr. Somaditya Kar, Barrackpore, West Bengal (Email: karsomaditya@gmail.com), booked a ticket from Kolkata to Hyderabad on 10th April 2012. At the time of booking it was mentioned that the fare was refundable if the ticket was cancelled. It was also mentioned in the ticket that the refund will be made in the form of E-coupon after deduction of Rs.1200/-. Mr Kar cancelled the ticker on 24th April 2012 and asked for the refund. Since he was not given refund he posted his complaint with ICF on 28-04-2012 and finally got his refund in form of E-coupon on 05-05-2012.

142. Credit Note from M/s. Trikuta Travels, J&K – Rs.19,000/-

Gautam Nirmal, from Gujarat, India, working in Dubai(Email: gautamnir@gmail.com) had discussed and agreed for a oneymoon package with M/s Trikuta Travels Partner, Jammu, Kashmir, India for Rs 75,000 for two couples. He had transferred them Rs 19,000 thru online transaction as an advance payment. Later, he could not manage to go to Kashmir. He spoke to Trikuta Travels explaining to situation and agreed that they would issue a credit note of Rs 19,000 for advance payment to use in future trips. However, the credit note was not issued and they did not respond to his telephone calls/emails. Mr. Nirmal posted his complaint with ICF on 16-04-2012 and after constant follow-up he got credit note by May 5, 2012.

143. Refund from Hans Travel – Rs.600/-

Ms. Amrtia Jain, Pune (amrita.jain.2581@gmail.com) had booked return ticket from Aurangabad – Indore(16th Apr)(600 Rs) and Indore – Aurangabd (19th Apr)(600 Rs) on 12th Apr. Out of which return ticket didn’t get booked but money was debited. She did not get the refund even after contacting Hans Travels multiple times. She posted her complaint with ICF on 19-06-2012 and got her refund by 23-06-2012.

144. Pureit Dual Chamber replacement – Rs.450/-

Jaspreet Singh purchased PureIT water purifier of Hindustan Unilever Limited from New Mittal Crockery Store, Sector 15C, Chandigarh on 20/03/2012. With in two months from the date of purchase its Dual Chamber got break automatically and water started leaking from the bottom. The purifier had six months of warrenty period from the date of purchase. The matter was reported Regional Sales Head from Chandigarh on 19/05/2012. He was first assured that the part would be replaced free of cost but subsequently he was asked topay Rs.450/- for replacement. ICF took up the issue with HUL Pureit and the part was replaced free of cost.

145. Refund from Samsung for mobile complaint: – Rs.11400/-

Mr. Mahesh Vijay Shreyas, Marampally PO, Aluva,Kerala (Email: maheshvijay82@gmail.com) bought Samsung GT B7722 Star Duos Mobile on 30/12/10. Since the date of purchase he had given the device for service for 7 times. Even after repeated servicing and change of parts Mr. Shreyas was facing the same issues. Mr. Mahesh posted his complaint with ICF on May 3, 2012 and finally got refund for the phone on 29 May, 2012.
