I had sent a consignment to Kolkata from Hyderabad on 1st July through Agarwal Movers and Packers Ltd. The consignment comprised some heavy furniture such as sofa set, TV cabinet, tall display cabinets etc. When the goods were delivered at my Kolkata address on 8th July, only one worker and a supervisor were provided by the mover to carry 22 pieces of heavy items from the ground floor to 9th floor by staircase, which was an impossible task for a single person. I had informed the mover at the time of packing regarding the requirement to carry the goods by staircase up to 9th floor. I kept calling the customer care (one Ms Sxxxxxxxa attended the call), delivery department (one Mr. Rxxxj took the call) and was promised that a few more workers would be sent to my flat in Kolkata to transfer the goods within half an hour. But no worker was sent even after waiting for more than 2 hours and finally they stopped taking my call. At last I called the delivery in-charge Vxxxxy Dxxxxxt who disconnected my call upon hearing my complaint. My relative in Kolkata who received the goods was in a helpless condition and was forced the help the single worker provided by the company to get the goods transferred to my apartment.
I find the behavior of the Agarwal Packers and Movers as totally unacceptable and it is nothing short of cheating the customer. They took the full payment at the time of packing so I had no means of withholding any payment until the delivery was completed. it is very important to bring such dishonest companies to justice and make sure they cannot short change their customers in this manner
