Complaint regarding wrong broadband bill

I had a connect landline number 0161 5xxxxx1 ,suddenly my modem becomes faulty so I had complaint to connect customer care about modem and I told them that I will not pay modem charges of Rs 1099, they say ok, the boy which comes to installed new modem also told me that modem is free of cost , but bill which comes includes modem charges+gst . I again do complaint ,they say we will waive off modem charges verbally but not waived off +gst ,so I not pay bill,they disconnect my connection after a week from due date ,now they are sending me and that we r doing court case so pay the amount 2777 which includes modem charges+gst + 1 month rent of broadband service which I had not used because of disconnection.
